Vanessa Bahmani is an artist and photographer, born in Guatemala City and raised in Berkeley, California. She received her B.A. degree in Ethnic Studies from UC Berkeley and her MFA degree in Photography, Video & Related Media from The School of Visual Arts in NYC. Bahmani was awarded The Adobe Design Achievement Awards semi-finalist (2008), NY Photo Festival nominee (2009), EXPOSURE 2011 top 110 finalist and CURATE NYC 2012 finalist.

Bahmani's work has been exhibited at Power House Books Arena in Brooklyn (2008), the ISE Cultural Foundation, NYC(2009), Southern Food & Beverage Museum in New Orleans,(2011), Rush Arts Gallery NYC (2011), South Street Seaport Museum, NYC (2012) and The Station Museum of Contemporary Art in Houston, TX (2012) among others.

Bahmani photographs a weekly cocktail column called "PDT Project" on UmamiMart.com and is an educator at Nassau Community College. She's fluent in Spanish, knowledgeable in Farsi, and currently lives in Brooklyn with her husband and baby Border Collie.
